Size Matters

prod09bm“How large of a tablecloth should I buy?” is a question I’m asked a lot.  Since fall is a busy season for entertaining, many of you might be wondering the same thing.

So here’s a tip:  look for a tablecloth that is 16″ to 20″ wider than your table and 16″ to 20″ longer than your table.  If you have a dining table that is 44″ X 60″, for example, then the perfect size cloth would be 63″ X 79″.  However, table linen manufacturers don’t always make cloths in every size imaginable, so use the above range as a guide.  Just remember that you never want the “drop” to be too short or too long.

You might need to have tablecloths in several lengths if you sometimes use a leaf with your table.  If you can’t find the perfect size, you can always get a custom size.  Many manufacturers offer custom sizes, so just ask.
